Grammar translation method

 

Hi everyone! Welcome to a new post! Today I want to share with you about the topic: Grammar translation Method.

This method consist in teaching foreign languages through the classical methods of teaching Greek and Latin. Here students learn grammatical rules and  how to apply them by translating sentences.

Characteristic of this method:

1- Classes are thought in the mother tongue 

2- There is no attention to the pronunciation or reading. 

3- More emphasis to developing grammar

SWOT Method

Strenght: Practice of grammar structure

Weaknesses: Lack of fluent english speaking.

Opportunities Learn the grammatical structure

Threats: Lack of writing and speaking. 

In this class we practiced this method doing a poem translation without any machine translation.
