The direct method also know as natural method is used to teach foreign languages but only using the target language, in this method all the instructions are conducted in the target language, error correction is non- threating, gramma is taught inductively and pronuniciation is emphasized. This is a method that some academies such as Direct English and E4CC use.
In this class we made a chart comparing the Grammar translation method and the Direct method as these are the two main methods of teaching foreign languages.
SWOT
S= The most important aspect is spoken language
W= There is no attention to reading and writing skills.
O= Pronunciation improvement
T= For being focused in oral performance and pronunciation students does not developed reading and writing skills.
